Projects
It is critical that NGE-TFT provides client services on a consistent, timely, and responsive manner. The majority of our clients return with repeat business because of our service-based philosophy. When NGE-TFT commits to a project, we make it a priority to provide the finest service available. This commitment to service means that we arrive on-site when scheduled, perform the tasks ethically and professionally, keep our prices consistent and reasonable, and complete our work by the required deadlines.
The engineers and staff at NGE-TFT are pleased with the client relationships we have developed. As we continue to grow and serve new clients, we will continue the same philosophy of providing our clients with the services they require. NGE-TFT is pleased to provide the following abbreviated abstracts of engineering, field testing, lab testing, and special inspection projects.
Engineering Projects |
Client |
Type of Services Performed |
Strategic Reconfiguration (SR) Pile Design |
SNC Lavalin |
Performed preliminary analysis and recommendations for pile design and field engineering services for construction. The foundations were placed in cold permafrost, marginal permafrost, and thawed, seasonally frozen ground conditions. |
Pump Station 4 |
Alyeska Pipeline Service Company |
Performed analysis, recommendations, consultation and oversight for the Pump Station 04 Sewage Treatment Plant Outfall Installation. |
Bethel Readiness Center Foundations |
USKH |
Geotechnical recommendations field QC and design for Building Foundations. The site is underlain with marginally frozen (ice-rich near the surface) soils. |
Jim River Maintenance Bldg |
PDC Engineering |
Provided geotechnical analysis and recommendations for a foundation on marginal permafrost. Salt contamination was encountered with recommendations for mitigation. The foundation refrigeration and insulation system was designed based on long-term thermal analysis computer modeling that included adjustments for continued climate warming. |
Rock Creek Mine |
Smith/Williams - AMEC |
Conducted 2-dimensional coupled thermal – groundwater modeling for evaluation of a frozen core earthen tails retention dam and the proposed production water injection facility. It was found that the frozen core dam would likely not perform adequately so the design was changed to a lined dam. The water injection analysis shows a gradual degradation of the discontinuous permafrost under climate warming without water injection and a similar degradation with the proposed intermittent injection. |
Put 23 Landfill Thermal Analysis |
Arco |
Analyzed long-term thermal stability for a landfill adjacent to a flooded gravel mine site. With the cold permafrost, the adjacent flooded pit would not impact the landfill frozen containment barrier under the assumed gradual climate warming being experienced on the north slope. |
